Commissions in Stoneware & Porcelain
COMPASS POINT
My first public commission is a 5m dia directional 'Compass Point' in Walkden Gardens, Sale (Design and ceramic elements by Gordon Cooke and pebble mosaics by Jeanette Appleton). The piece was funded by the Esmee Fairburn Foundationand is managed by the Friends of Walkden Gardens. It forms a focal point in the gardens and was completed in 2007.
MISS CORDINGLEY'S GARDEN.
Another commission for Walkden Gardens has been completed.It is a stoneware and set spiral which concludes a grass footpath in this newly acquired space. It is funded by 'Greening Greater Manchester'
MOUND
A group of six stoneware forms in a grass 'mound' at a private garden in Goosetrey, Cheshire, was completed this summer.
CONCRETE BIRDBATH
The first of new series of concrete 'pots' has been commissioned for a private garden in Congleton, Cheshire, and is 800mm in diameter.
GOLD FOR GORDON AND JEKKA!
Jekka McVickar invited Gordon Cooke to make containers for her famous herbs, and the collaboration resulted in a gold medal at the 2007 Chelsea Flower Show.
